Read pages 1-28 in the book

This chapter lays the foundation for the course and the profession as a whole.  A good ethical base ensures our professionalism in the field.  Many terms and concepts are covered in this chapter.  It is important that you commit each term to memory and ensure understanding.  This concepts include: dual relationships, informed consent, value conflicts, confidentiality, self-determination, privileged communication, mandated reporting and diagnostic labeling.
