Based on your own upbringing, what biases to bring to "the table" on a discussion of sexual orientation?

  • Explore gender and sexuality issues such as "Same Sex Marriage"

Teaching

I would like you to read and review two articles that are available in our online library.

  • Go to the KVCC website
  • Click on the Library link
  • Click on the Magnifying Glass (Find)
  • Login to the Portal
  • Select EBSCO
  • Select "Points of View"
  • Enter the search term "Same Sex Marriage"
  • Read the two following point/counterpoint articles:
    • "Same-Sex Marriage Undermines Family and Society"
    • "Same-Sex Marriage is both a Constitutional and Human Right"

It is OK to be on either side of this issue, the key is for you to be able to engage in the debate in a respectful and considerate manner.

Post comments and debates that reflect BOTH sides of the issue as related in the two articles in the Lesson Plan. (You will need to review the details in the Lesson Plan to complete this discussion). Make sure that your post reflects the notion that sexuality is a Social Construct and that your thoughts are highly influenced by your personal social groups.
