Writing - Reflective Journal Learning Outcomes Upon completion of this lesson's material, students will be able to:
Instructions Through each of the Lesson Plans of this course you will create a reflective journal in which you will document your thoughts and experiences in this course. This is a process of self-reflection and is not an evaluation of the course. The aim of this sort of assignment is that you will engage yourself in a process of observing your own thought processes and personal change as you experience the content of the course. The journal is expected to be written in such a manner that it reflects deep contemplation about personal experiences, challenges to your ways of thinking, personal challenges in facing this kind of work in your career, and thoughts about the experiences you have had in the classs and/or discussions. In the Groups section of the course you will be assigned your own group and in this special group you will have a personal discussion board. For each Lesson you will need to post a Reflective Journal Entry. For each Journal entry you will start a new thread in this special discussion board and this will provide an opportunity for your instructor to respond to and grade your entry. Simply put, your Reflection Journal entry offers you the opportunity to have a 1:1 dialogue about the course content. Overall your journal summarizes your understanding of crisis, your role as a crisis working, identity formation, grief, loss, trauma, and resiliency, coping and growth…. I would like this to include any quotes, graphics, doodles, pictures, poems or poetic aspects you'd like to include. What music matters? What messages matter? Your grade will be a single grade at the end of the semester for all 10 Reflective Journal entries combined. Since this is a "writting" assignment you will be evaluated based on your ability to convey deep reflection through writing.
