The Center for Civic Engagement at KVCC promotes and supports the development of Community Service through volunteerism and Service-Learning opportunities on and off campus.

Community Service

The Center maintains a database of community agencies with which it has worked over the years and serves as a clearinghous for volunteer opportunities both on and off campus.

The CCE has partnered with the Student Development Office to further the mission of service on the campus. Stay tuned for additional information on how the CCE and Student Development will be working together.

Service-Learning

"Service-Learning is a teaching method which combines community service with academic instruction as it focusees on critical, reflective thining and civic responsibility. Service-Learning programs involve studets in organized community service that addresses local needs, while developing their academic skills, sense of civic responsibility, and commitment ot the community."
