Managing the Grade Center : Grading Schemes

Access the Full Grade Center

Clicking on Grade Center will bring you to a screen that allows you to view all your students' grades and to make changes to the grade book.

Grading Schemes are the tools we use to convert numerical grades into letter grades.

KVCC has a standard letter grade scheme that starts off something like this:

95 - 100 --- A
90 - 94 --- A-
etc.

Some of you have defined your own based on points:

1650 - 2000 --- A
1300 - 1649 --- B
etc.

Either way...in the grading scheme tool you can provide for an automatic conversion to letter grades

NOTE: In the Total Colum and in the Weighted Column there were options as to how to view the result of those calcuations. One option is "Letter Grade"

If you use a Total Column (points) or Weighted Column (weighted averages) to calculate your numerical final grades you can display these a Letter Grades instead. The selected letter grade will refer to the Grading Scheme you create using this tool.

BB comes with a Letter Grade scheme already in the system...you can simply select "edit" and change it to suit your course.

Below is a screen shot of my Letter Grade scheme for my PSY 101 class.

As you can see, the grading scheme not only provides Letter Grades for numerical grades, it also provides numerical grades for entered Letter Grades.
